MUSIC

Floor 3

In this section we invite you to discover the deep link between Music and music. In the path you can see a reconstruction of Pythagorean monocord, an instrument formed by a resonance case, a tense rope and a mobile bridge. Through the monochrome it is possible to understand how the Pythagoreans had identified precise mathematical relationships between musical sounds. Simple numerical relationships regulate some of the fundamental intervals of the Pythagoric scale: 2:1 for the eighth, 3:2 for the fifth and 4:3 for the fourth . The exhibition section as well as numbers, proportions and harmony are closely linked, allowing you to observe and understand one of the oldest encounters between Music and music.
