Mateureka Recognised as One of Europe’s Five Leading Museums in Its Field

The Museum Mateureka has been recognized by the magazine UMI (Italian Mathematic Union) among the five most authoritative museums in Europe, together with Maison Poincaré in Paris, the Mathematikum by Giessen in Germany and National Mathematics Discovery Centre by Leeds, the United Kingdom and the Museu de Matemàtiques de Catalunya MMA in Spain.

It is also the only museum of organized open and operational for 20 years in Italy. Cited from the site Wiki Math com and from the site MoMath New York is presented by the prestigious guide of La Repubblica Emilia Romagna, the Kingdom of Science: places, people, future as “Symbol of scientific creativity, Highlights”.

The museum has carried out in these twenty years an imposing and important activity through exhibitions, conferences, publications so as to become a point of reference for schools, researchers and fans of mathematics.

Mateureka got it authoritative awards, including the National Award Montefeltro for the section Culture and Science from the University of Urbino for the scientific rigor of the exhibition path; the award ♪ of the Province of Pesaro-Urbino and, lately, the Farm Cultural Park by Favara (Sicily) recognized the founder of the museum as Urban rebellion to have made Mateureka a cultural engine and a site of excellence for dissemination and, soon, a new room will be inaugurated on Mathematical curves and the hall Optical illusions using the latest technologies for museum use.

Being on the list of the five most authoritative museums in European mathematics is a satisfaction and an honor not only for Mateureka but for all our territory.
