Mateureka Appeals to Iranian President Ahmadinejad for the Release of Student Mahmoud Vahidnia

Mateureka, the Italian museum of mathematics, addresses the S.V. A very famous call for the liberation of the student of mathematics Mahmoud Vahidnia. This request has no political significance nor presupposes any judgment against your country; nor does it want to be an interference in Iran’s internal affairs. Only a humanitarian need and, even more, scientific urges us to ask for your intervention in favor of a brilliant student, winner of an Olympiad of the Teaching. In recalling, with admiration and gratitude, the exceptional role played by the mathematicians of your country, we trust that Mahmoud Vahidnia will soon return to his studies for which he seems to have a predisposition outside the ordinary.
