ELECTRONIC CALCULATORS

Floor 2

The development of electronic technology introduced considerable innovations in the field of office calculators.

At the beginning of the 1960s they began to design and sell electronic table calculators that replaced the now exceeded additives and mechanical and electromechanical calculators.

In Italy the main manufacturers of electronic table calculators were the Electronic machinery industry, whose most famous model is IME 84, and Olivetti that, with the models of the Logos series of the 70’s, is imposed in the world market of electronic printer calculators.

The ever more push miniaturization has allowed the construction, since the 1970s, of pocket electronic calculators increasingly powerful and flexible and, since 1973 with HP 65, even programmable, similar to a programmable calculator.
